The following list is comprised of constant favorites of sailors, power cruisers, anglers and watersports fans for seasonal or year-round boating, and is not in a specific order.

San Juan Islands– Here, instead of palm trees and tropical fish, there are forests filled with pine trees and the sea life includes killer whales! Located in the Pacific Northwest, each island and town has a distinct charm of its own.

San Francisco Bay- It is extremely windy with relatively calm seas. Sailors and power boaters love it.

Lake Havasu– It is located on the border between Southern California and Arizona. Young boaters often party here, making the area seem like an endless Spring Break celebration. Havasu attracts many sport boats, but there are also plenty of houseboats and pontoon boats.

Lake Champlain– This lake is on the border of Vermont and New York State. It is 125 miles long, and stretches into Canadian waters. There are 80 islands to enjoy. There are many historical sites along the lake as well.

Newport, Rhode Island– This is a boater’s paradise. The sunsets are so beautiful. Newport has a distinguished boat show each September for power boaters and sail boaters.

Chesapeake Bay– It is almost 200 miles long and up to 30 miles wide. About half of the Bay is in Maryland and the other half is in Virginia. Rockfish fishing is popular, but any kind of boating is common.

South Florida– From Fort Lauderdale all the way through the Florida Keys to the Key West, fishing is extremely popular. The eastern coast is a common place for center console fishing boats.

Northwest Florida– Tampa Bay on the western coast of the state is great for paddle boarders, kayakers, fishermen and sailors. There’s so much to do, from dock dining, beach camping, and cruising.

Many pieces of artwork receive an increased value after the artist has passed away because artwork by that person becomes limited. The demand for this artwork increases, which also increases the cost.

  1. Art is seen as an easy investment.

Art’s value is constantly changing. One day, it could be worth a million dollars, but a decade later, it could be worth so much more than that. Because of this, wealthy people sometimes purchase art for the purpose of gaining more wealth rather than to have the artwork.

  1. Practicing art is expensive.

Due to the different types of saltwater fish and number of saltwater fishing tips and techniques that can be applied, learning all the tricks when it comes to how to saltwater fish can be a challenge for both seasoned anglers and beginners.

Just remember, the types of fishing tackle and gear that is used for saltwater fishing differs considerably based on the species and the specific fishing techniques that are applied. Other saltwater fishing tips to keep in mind:

  1. Make sure to have a valid saltwater fishing license.
  2. Check a local tide chart when planning your inshore saltwater fishing trip. One of the most important inshore fishing tips is to plan your trips based on tidal movement.
  3. Choose the right spinning rod and reel combo. Start out with a 7-foot, medium weight spinning rod and reel combo that’s rated for 10 to 20-pound test line.
  4. Use live or natural baits or your favorite fishing lures. Natural baits, such as shrimp or baitfish, offer you the best opportunity for consistent action.
  5. Make sure to keep your live bait in a covered bucket or in a live well.
  6. Consider fishing from a public pier to start. Public piers are great places to gain experience with inshore saltwater fishing gear, rigging baits, and landing fish.
  7. When practicing catch and release, keep your catch out of the water only as long as you can hold your own breath.

Learning how to saltwater fish is as much about the adventure as it is about the fish. Many of the sport fish species can be big and mean, and the water can be big and bad. Unique Items for Coastal Homes

Artist and owner, John Doherty, has his own method of Gyotaku. “First, I mix up paint or ink and then apply it directly on the fish. Next, I simply cover the fish with fine paper or fabric and gently rub.” The Gyotaku technique that is used allows accurate images of fish to be turned into art.

Fishaye produces a lot of different products using this technique. A broad range of prints and inks can be used on anything from fragile rice paper to a firm canvas.

Some of the products that Fishaye offers include:

  • Nautical Wall Art: All Gyotaku fish prints (collages, metal, and nautical prints) are IGEN prints on premium matte paper and some include a 1/8” thick clear acrylic and foamcore backing.
  • Trays: There are two different types: driftwood and melamine. Driftwood trays are made from genuine pieces of driftwood with two galvanized dock cleats as handles. Melamine trays are thick, dishwasher safe and excellent quality.
